MEET RETA

My Name is Reta Frekot, owner of Picked and Polished & creator of The DIY Decor Makers Membership and I've taught thousands of crafty ladies how to make signs with their Cricuts without feeling afraid to get started so they can finally ENJOY the journey of sign making. That's what it's all about at the end of the day, am I right?! 

I'm a mom, wife, former teacher and Stage 3 Colon Cancer survivor. I love to travel anywhere there is a body of water 😆, I'm a huge "Golden Girls" fan and of course I love to get crafty! 

My passion for sharing and encouraging women began with my cancer journey. In 2014, at the age of 37, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colo-rectal cancer. My girls were 5 and 2 at the time and creating and DIY projects really allowed me to navigate my way through a very difficult time in our family's life. Through that journey, I was able to make the most of every moment and enjoy my life, in spite of my diagnosis, treatment, and surgeries. I've been lucky enough to be cancer free now, and I'm grateful to live each day teaching and creating with amazing ladies like you.

I'm on a mission to encourage and teach you how to use your Cricut to create signs without the fear of getting started so you can dive right into the fun journey of sign making!
