MEET RETA

My Name is Reta Frekot, owner of Picked and Polished & creator of The DIY Decor Makers Membership and I've taught over a thousand women how to make signs with their Cricuts with less overwhelm so they can finally ENJOY the journey of creating! That's what it's all about at the end of the day, am I right?! 

I'm a mom, wife, former teacher  and colon cancer survivor. I love to travel anywhere there is a body of water 😆 and of course get crafty! 

My passion for sharing and encouraging women began with my cancer journey. In 2014, at the age of 37, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colo-rectal cancer. My girls were 5 and 2 at the time and creating and DIY projects really allowed me to navigate my way through a very difficult time in our family's life. Through that journey, I was able to make the most of every moment and enjoy my life, in spite of my diagnosis, treatment, and surgeries. I've been lucky enough to be cancer free now, and I'm grateful to live each day doing what I love.

I'm passionate about encouraging women to take risks in their creative adventures and I believe you can be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your creative soul on fire!

I can't wait to create something beautiful with you!
